Health & Quality of Life
The Health and Quality of Life Committee is focused on improving the quality of life of individuals through good health, sound mind, and spirituality. This committee will provide ULGDYP with the education, resources, and activities conducive to the well-being of its members and the members of the community it serves. The first initiative of 2009 will be the start of the 50 Million Pound Challenge. This challenge is a national program headed by nutrition and fitness expert Dr. Ian Smith that provides tool and tips needed to not only encourage weight loss but improve the overall health status of the African American community.
In addition to the challenge, the Health and Quality of Life committee will plan monthly activities and events that will support our goals of becoming healthier through good nutritional habits and physical activity.
